DOODLING
I developed a foundation from an alphabetic study using four shapes – circle, rectangle, parallelogram, square – to represent the letters, A-to-Z. Immersively playing with shape association, formation & negative space I began forming the initials of my name – C. A. I.
REFINING
A design struggle of keeping the logo minimalistic and bold, yet contrasted by the plain letter creation; I branched off into an abstract direction. Like a unique piece of jewelry, I wanted a statement icon that truly represented me at my core with vibrancy through color & layering.
DEFINING
Opting to combine the letters C and I into a shape – my ultimate brand monogram became a visual conversation of how many layers to build up & the intensity of color saturation. Reviewing them at both large scale (shown below) and small scale (see résumé), I found the perfect icon to represent me, Carla Idrogo.
